Thai-British Formula 1 driver known for his adaptability and racecraft, achieving podium finishes with Red Bull Racing before joining Williams Racing

Alexander Philippe Albon Ansusinha was born on 23 March 1996 in Westminster, London, to English racing driver Nigel Albon and his Thai wife, Kankamol, and races under the Thai flag in honour of his mother's heritage. He began kart racing at eight, winning the Hoddesdon Championship in his first year and later the Kartmasters British Grand Prix. Albon joined the Red Bull Junior Team in 2012 and progressed through Formula Renault, GP3, and Formula 2, finishing runner-up in the 2016 GP3 Series to future teammate Charles Leclerc, before making his Formula One debut with Toro Rosso in 2019. Albon was promoted to the senior Red Bull Racing team midway through his debut season, and in 2020 became the first Thai driver ever to stand on a Formula One podium, achieving the feat twice that year. After losing his seat at the end of 2020, he spent 2021 as Red Bull's test and simulator driver, contributing to the team's championship-winning car development. Albon returned to the grid with Williams in 2022, becoming a key figure in the team's ongoing rebuild, and is only the second Thai driver in Formula One history, following Prince Bira in the 1950s, continuing a source of considerable national pride nearly 70 years after Thailand's previous representative.
