Marcus Smith is an England fly-half known for his attacking flair, having played a starring role for Harlequins and earned Lions selection.

Marcus Sebastian Smith was born on 14 February 1999 in Parañaque, Metro Manila, in the Philippines, to an English father and Filipina mother, spending the first eight years of his life in the country before the family moved to Singapore, where he began playing rugby at seven with Centaurs RFC. The family later settled in Brighton, England, when Marcus was 13. Smith earned a sports scholarship to Brighton College, where he captained the first XV, before joining Harlequins' academy and making his professional debut at 18 years and 200 days old — at the time the second-youngest fly-half debutant in Premiership history, behind only George Ford. His rapid rise culminated in a standout 2020-21 season, in which he was the league's top points scorer as Harlequins won the Premiership title. Smith made his full England debut in July 2021, scoring a try against the USA, and was selected for the British & Irish Lions later that same year, becoming one of the fastest players in the modern era to progress from club breakthrough to international recognition. He was selected for a second Lions tour in 2025. Smith has continued to develop into one of the most creative and instinctive playmakers in English rugby, renowned for his footwork and try-scoring instincts, and has spoken of his hope to eventually help develop rugby union in the Philippines, the country of his birth.
