Freddie Steward is an England fullback known for his aerial ability, who has become a regular starter for England and the British & Irish Lions.

Freddie Nicholas Overbury Steward was born on 5 December 2000 in Dereham, England, and attended Norwich School before joining Leicester Tigers' academy, making his senior debut in 2019. Standing 1.96 metres tall, he developed into one of the most physically imposing and reliable full-backs in the international game, renowned for his aerial dominance under the high ball. Steward made his England debut in 2021, scoring a try on his first Test start against Australia after rounding full-back Kurtley Beale, and was named the Rugby Players' Association's Young Player of the Year and England's Men's Player of the Season for 2022, a remarkable breakthrough campaign that also earned him a place in the inaugural under-23 Team of the Season. Steward quickly established himself as England's first-choice full-back, valued as much for his defensive positioning and high-ball security as for his growing attacking threat, and became a key figure in the national team's back three throughout the 2020s.
