Lance Strulovitch, known as Lance Stroll, was born on 29 October 1998 in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, the son of billionaire businessman Lawrence Stroll and his Belgian ex-wife. He began competitive kart racing at ten, winning multiple regional and national titles before progressing through the junior single-seater ranks, claiming the Italian F4, Toyota Racing Series, and FIA F3 European championships in successive seasons. Stroll made his Formula One debut with Williams in 2017 at 18, becoming one of the youngest drivers to score points in his debut season, before his father's investment consortium acquired the Force India team in 2018, relaunching it as Racing Point and later Aston Martin, where Lance has driven ever since. Stroll claimed his maiden Formula One pole position at the rain-affected 2020 Turkish Grand Prix, one of the standout moments of his career, and has continued to compete for the team his father owns, occasionally drawing scrutiny over the dynamic between his results and his family's ownership stake in the constructor.
