American NASCAR driver who won the 2014 Cup Series Championship and 60 Cup Series races, including the 2007 and 2010 Daytona 500 victories.

Kevin Michael Harvick was born on 8 December 1975 in Bakersfield, California, to Mike and JoNell Harvick, and received his first go-kart as a kindergarten graduation gift, going on to win seven national and two Grand National karting championships before moving to full-bodied stock cars in 1992. Harvick was thrust into one of NASCAR's most difficult situations in 2001, taking over the iconic No. 3 car for Richard Childress Racing following the death of Dale Earnhardt, winning in just his third start at Atlanta in an emotionally charged victory that helped the sport begin to heal. Harvick won back-to-back Busch Series championships in 2001 and 2006, and delivered the biggest achievement of his career in 2014, winning the inaugural elimination-style Chase for the Cup playoff format to claim his first Cup Series championship. Harvick won the 2007 Daytona 500 and finished his full-time driving career with 60 Cup Series victories, ranking 11th all-time, before transitioning to broadcasting as a NASCAR analyst for Fox Sports. Kern County Speedway in his hometown of Bakersfield was renamed in his honour in 2023, recognising his contributions to grassroots racing.
