Czech player known for her variety and touch who has reached multiple Grand Slam singles finals.

Karolína Muchová was born on 21 August 1996 in Olomouc, Czech Republic, the daughter of Josef Mucha, a former professional footballer who played for SK Sigma Olomouc, and Hana Muchová. Her brother, Filip, became a professional football goalkeeper. She turned professional in 2013 and joined the WTA Tour in 2016. Muchová developed into one of the most versatile and technically gifted players on tour, renowned for a varied game built around slice, touch, and net play rather than pure power. She won her first WTA singles title at the 2019 Korea Open, and reached the semi-finals of the 2021 Australian Open in a career-defining breakthrough run. A serious ankle injury sidelined Muchová from the 2023 US Open through the start of the 2024 grass season, but she returned to reach a maiden Grand Slam final at the 2023 French Open, taking world No. 1 Iga Świątek to a deciding set before losing in three. She reached the semi-finals of the US Open in both 2023 and 2024. Muchová won the 2026 Qatar Open, a WTA 1000 title, and reached a career-high ranking of world No. 8 in September 2023, establishing herself as the Czech Republic's leading singles player and one of the most unpredictable, skilful competitors on the WTA Tour.
