Linda Nosková

Rising Czech player who announced herself by defeating world No. 1 Iga Świątek in the fourth round of the 2024 Australian Open.

Linda Nosková was born on 17 November 2004 in Vsetín, Czech Republic, to Ivana Nosková and Drahoš Nosek, from the nearby town of Bystřička. Her father, a retired railway employee, first put a racquet in her hands around age six or seven and remains a regular presence in her player box; her mother, who ran a clothing shop in the family's hometown, passed away in July 2024 after a long illness. Nosková has described growing up surrounded by forest in a small village, crediting the setting for a lifelong interest in nature. Nosková turned professional in 2019 and announced herself on the WTA Tour at the 2024 Australian Open, defeating world No. 1 Iga Świątek in the second round in one of the tournament's biggest upsets, before reaching the quarter-finals. She won her maiden WTA title at the 2024 Monterrey Open. Nosková reached a career-high singles ranking of world No. 12 in January 2026, and capped a rapid rise by winning the 2026 Wimbledon title, defeating fellow Czech Karolína Muchová 6-2, 5-7, 6-3 in the first all-Czech women's final of the Open Era — becoming, at 21, the youngest Wimbledon champion since compatriot Petra Kvitová in 2011, and the third Czech winner of the title in four years. Standing 1.79 metres tall, Nosková is known for a powerful first serve and aggressive baseline game, and in 2025 spent part of her offseason volunteering at a school in Zanzibar, an experience she has said broadened her perspective beyond tennis.

Nosková plays an aggressive baseline game with powerful groundstrokes from both wings. She possesses a strong forehand and uses her height effectively to generate pace and angles from the back of the court.
