Jermall Charlo

Jermall Charlo is an undefeated American boxer who has held world titles in two weight divisions.

Jermall Charlo was born on 19 May 1990 in Lafayette, Louisiana, and raised in Houston, Texas, alongside his identical twin brother Jermell, who was born one minute after him and would also become a world champion boxer. The brothers, graduates of Alief Hastings High School, began boxing after following their father, a former boxer, into the gym. Charlo hoped to represent the United States at the 2008 Beijing Olympics but was forced to withdraw due to a toe injury, finishing his amateur career with a record of 65 wins and 6 losses. He turned professional that August, winning his debut by second-round technical knockout. Charlo, nicknamed "Hitman" and dubbed "The Future of Boxing" early in his career, went unbeaten as a professional, winning world titles at both light middleweight and middleweight and compiling a perfect record entering his mid-thirties. His twin brother Jermell achieved similar success at light middleweight, making the Charlos one of the most accomplished sets of boxing brothers in the sport's history. Charlo has continued to compete at the world level in the middleweight and super middleweight divisions, renowned for his precise counter-punching and finishing power, and remains one of the most avoided fighters in his weight range given his unbeaten record and technical skill.
