The greatest women's ice hockey player of all time — four Olympic gold medals, seven World Championship titles and the first woman to score a goal in a men's professional league. She played 23 seasons for Team Canada and retired as the most decorated player in the sport's history.

Hayley Wickenheiser was born in Shaunavon, Saskatchewan in 1978 and is the greatest women's ice hockey player in history. She won four Olympic gold medals (2002, 2006, 2010, 2014) and one silver medal (1998). She won seven Women's World Championship titles with Canada. She played 276 games for the Canadian national team — the most by any female player. She was the first woman to score a goal in men's professional hockey in a non-goaltending position when she played for a Finnish men's league team in 2003. She was captain of Team Canada and an iconic figure in the sport's development globally. After retirement she became a medical student and then pursued a career in sports medicine. She was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame in 2019. She has been named one of the 100 greatest players in IIHF history.
