Alexandra Rose Raisman was born in Needham, Massachusetts in 1994. She won six Olympic medals — three gold and three silver — across two Olympics. She captained the US team in 2012 and 2016. She was a survivor of sexual abuse by team doctor Larry Nassar — one of the most prominent voices in the #MeToo reckoning within sport, testifying powerfully before the US Senate and in Nassar's sentencing hearing. Her victim impact statement in 2018 was widely praised for its clarity and courage. She is one of the most impactful individual athlete activists in American sport history.
