Gabrielle Lisa Thomas was born on 7 December 1996 in Atlanta, Georgia, and raised in Northampton, Massachusetts, before attending Harvard University, where she studied neurobiology and became one of the finest sprinters in Ivy League history. Thomas earned a master of public health degree in epidemiology from the University of Texas Health Science Center at Houston while continuing to train professionally, and won bronze in the 200m and silver in the 4x100m relay at the delayed Tokyo 2020 Olympics. Thomas delivered the finest achievement of her career at the 2024 Paris Olympics, winning three gold medals in the 200m, 4x100m relay, and 4x400m relay, and has continued volunteering at a healthcare clinic for uninsured patients even while training at an elite level.
