Daniel Andre Sturridge was born in Birmingham on 1 September 1989. After coming through Manchester City's academy, he joined Chelsea in 2009 and then Liverpool in January 2013. His partnership with Luis Suárez in 2013-14 was explosive — he scored 24 goals as Liverpool came within games of winning the Premier League. Quick, intelligent and a natural finisher, injuries tragically curtailed his career. He made 160 appearances for Liverpool and scored 68 goals. He won the Champions League in 2019. He earned 26 England caps and scored 8 goals. He later played for West Brom and Trabzonspor.
