Born in Yakima, Washington in 1993, Cooper Douglas Kupp emerged from a football family with deep roots in the sport. His grandfather, Jake Kupp, played professionally, while his father, Craig Kupp, quarterbacked at Pacific Lutheran University. Kupp starred at Eastern Washington University, where he set numerous NCAA FCS records and won the Walter Payton Award as the top player in the division in 2015. The Los Angeles Rams selected Kupp in the third round (69th overall) of the 2017 NFL Draft, a pick that proved exceptional value. He established himself immediately as a reliable target for quarterback Jared Goff, posting over 1,100 receiving yards in both 2018 and 2019 before suffering a torn ACL that ended his 2018 season prematurely.
