Cameron Brink

American basketball player known for her defensive prowess and shot-blocking ability, winning three consecutive Pac-12 Defensive Player of the Year awards

Cameron Brink was born on 31 December 2001, and spent three formative years living in Amsterdam from age eight while her parents worked for Nike, returning to the United States before starting sixth grade. She was initially uninterested in basketball, preferring art and later volleyball after watching the 2012 London Olympics, before attending a basketball camp run by her godfather, former NBA player Dell Curry, while visiting the Curry family in Charlotte, North Carolina. Brink went on to star at Stanford University, developing into one of the most feared shot-blockers in women's college basketball, and declared for the WNBA Draft after helping lead the Cardinal through a standout collegiate career built on elite interior defence and an increasingly versatile offensive game. The Los Angeles Sparks selected Brink with a high pick in the 2024 WNBA Draft, and she quickly established herself as one of the league's most promising young post players before a significant knee injury interrupted her rookie campaign, an early setback in what scouts widely regard as a career with considerable long-term upside.
