Caleb Martin was born on 28 September 1995 in Winston-Salem, North Carolina, the identical twin brother of fellow professional player Cody Martin, and was raised alongside older brother Raheem in the small town of Mocksville by their single mother, Jenny Bennett, who worked multiple jobs as a waitress, factory worker, and caregiver to support the family after their father was largely absent from their lives. Martin and his twin starred together at Davie County High School before transferring to the prestigious Oak Hill Academy, and both committed to North Carolina State University, where Caleb averaged 11.5 points and 4.7 rebounds as a sophomore before transferring to the University of Nevada to finish his college career, being named Mountain West Player of the Year in 2018. Martin went undrafted in 2019 but earned a roster spot with the Charlotte Hornets, and developed into a reliable three-and-D forward, delivering a breakout postseason for the Miami Heat in 2023, helping the team reach the NBA Finals with a series of standout playoff performances. Martin moved to the Philadelphia 76ers in 2024 before joining the Dallas Mavericks in 2025, continuing a career built on resilience and defensive versatility that mirrors the determination instilled in him and his twin brother by their mother during a difficult upbringing in rural North Carolina.
