Anthony Kumpen is a Belgian racing driver and team manager, a two-time NASCAR Whelen Euro Series champion who is a first cousin once removed of Formula 1 star Max Verstappen.
Anthony Kumpen is the most successful driver in the history of the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series, winning back-to-back championships in 2014 and 2016 and accumulating 10 wins and 27 podiums across a decade with team PK Carsport. He built an early career in GT and touring car racing, competing in the FIA GT Championship, American Le Mans Series, and Rolex Sports Car Series through the 2000s, and made four appearances at the 24 Hours of Le Mans between 2001 and 2004. Kumpen transitioned into NASCAR-style stock car racing in Europe, joining the NASCAR Whelen Euro Series (then EuroNASCAR) in its early years with team PK Carsport. He won the series championship in 2014, a result that also earned him a license to compete in the NASCAR K&N Pro Series East in the United States, and won a second EuroNASCAR title in 2016, amassing 10 race wins and 27 podiums across a decade in the series. Kumpen also competed in a handful of NASCAR national touring races in the United States between 2015 and 2017, and remained a fixture of Belgian GT racing throughout his career, holding a joint record for the most wins at the 24 Hours of Zolder. He later transitioned into team management, running PK Carsport's NASCAR Euro Series programme.
