Tuncay Şanlı scored 22 goals in 96 caps for Turkey and was part of the side that reached the semi-finals of Euro 2008, one of the country's best-ever tournament performances. He won the Turkish Super League and two Turkish Cups with Trabzonspor before moving to England, where he played for Middlesbrough and Stoke City, becoming one of the more recognisable Turkish exports to the Premier League. Known for his versatility across attacking positions, he remains one of the most accomplished Turkish players to have had a sustained career in English football.
