Tim Stützle was born on 15 January 2002 in Viersen, Germany, and played junior hockey for Krefelder EV before transferring to Jungadler Mannheim, where he scored 18 goals and 29 assists during the 2017-18 season as one of the top prospects in his age group. The Ottawa Senators selected Stützle third overall in the 2020 NHL Draft, rated as one of the finest prospects available that year, and he scored a hat-trick against the Winnipeg Jets during his rookie season despite the Senators missing the playoffs. Stützle developed into one of the league's most dynamic young centres, becoming a key building block for Ottawa's rebuilding roster and representing Germany at the 2026 Winter Olympics in Milan-Cortina.
