Salomon Armand Magloire Kalou was born in Oumé, Ivory Coast on 5 August 1985. He joined Chelsea from Feyenoord in 2007 and became a reliable squad member, known for his pace, trickery and ability to play across the front line. He made 254 appearances and scored 60 goals for Chelsea, winning two Premier League titles, four FA Cups, a League Cup and the Champions League in 2012. He earned over 90 caps for the Ivory Coast and won the Africa Cup of Nations in 2015. He later played for Lille, Hertha Berlin and Botafogo.
