He attended Lincoln High School before playing four seasons at UCLA, earning first-team All-Pac-12 honours as a senior in 2015. The Milwaukee Bucks selected Powell in the second round of the 2015 NBA Draft before trading his rights to the Toronto Raptors, where he developed into a valuable scoring wing, winning an NBA championship with the Raptors in 2019 as part of the franchise's historic title run. Powell was traded to the Portland Trail Blazers in 2021, then to the Los Angeles Clippers in 2022, continuing to develop into one of the league's most efficient scoring guards off the bench and in starting roles alike, known for his ability to score in bunches.
