Explosive Canadian point guard whose clutch playoff performances and devastating scoring have made him one of the NBA's most electric players.
Jamal Murray was born in Kitchener, Ontario on 23 February 1997. A lethal scorer and dynamic playmaker, Murray emerged from the University of Kentucky as the seventh overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets. He steadily developed into an elite offensive guard, capable of scoring from anywhere on the floor with his pull-up jumper, floater and three-point shooting. His defining moment came in the 2020 NBA Playoffs in the Orlando bubble, where he averaged 26.5 points and delivered a series of legendary clutch performances, including a duel with Donovan Mitchell that produced some of the most extraordinary individual playoff games in recent memory. He won the NBA Championship with the Nuggets in 2023 alongside Nikola Jokić, cementing his status as an elite co-star. For Canada he has been a key figure in their rise to basketball prominence.
