Former first overall pick who has found his footing in the NBA after a difficult start, emerging as a versatile and capable big man.
Marvin Bagley III was born in Phoenix, Arizona on 14 March 2001. A 6ft 11in power forward with exceptional athleticism and interior scoring ability, Bagley was selected second overall in the 2018 NBA Draft by the Sacramento Kings, the highest-drafted player from his class not named Deandre Ayton. His time in Sacramento was disrupted by injuries and developmental inconsistencies, leading to a trade to the Detroit Pistons in 2022. At Detroit he showed improvement and earned more opportunities before moving to Washington Wizards. When healthy, his athleticism, rebounding and ability to score around the basket are evident, though consistency and injuries have been recurring themes. His career trajectory has not yet matched his pre-draft billing as a top-two pick.
