Martin Nečas is a Czech centre who developed into one of the NHL's most creative and skilled offensive players during his time with the Carolina Hurricanes, his exceptional hands, playmaking vision and ability to create in tight spaces producing outstanding offensive numbers. In January 2025, Nečas was traded to the Colorado Avalanche as part of the deal that sent Mikko Rantanen to Carolina, joining a new offensive core alongside Nathan MacKinnon.
