Marshall William Faulk was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1973. Indianapolis Colts selected him second overall in the 1994 NFL Draft. His 13-season career produced 12,279 rushing yards, 6,875 receiving yards and 136 total touchdowns. He won the NFL MVP in 2000 and the Offensive Player of the Year award three consecutive times (1999, 2000, 2001) — a record. He won the Super Bowl with the St. Louis Rams' Greatest Show on Turf offence following the 1999 season. He was selected to seven Pro Bowls. His combination of running ability and receiving ability — he caught 767 passes across his career from the running back position — was unprecedented. In 2000 he set the NFL record for total yards from scrimmage in a season with 2,429, combining 1,359 rushing yards and 830 receiving yards. He was named to the NFL 100 All-Time Team in 2019. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2011, his first year of eligibility. His yards-from-scrimmage average of 125.1 per game across his career is among the highest in NFL history. He is regarded as the most versatile offensive weapon the running back position has produced.
