Spanish · Palma, Spain · Born 21 January 1996Gifted Spanish attacker whose stunning left foot produced spectacular goals during Real Madrid's Champions League-winning era.
Marco Asensio announced himself to world football with a spectacular long-range left-foot strike in the 2016 UEFA Super Cup, the kind of debut cameo that persuaded Real Madrid they had a player capable of contributing across three La Liga titles and three Champions League campaigns over nearly a decade at the Bernabéu. Asensio broke into Real Madrid's first team fully in 2016, quickly announcing his talent with a spectacular long-range strike in the UEFA Super Cup that year. Blessed with an elegant left foot, dribbling ability, and a knack for scoring in decisive matches, he became a key attacking option across nearly a decade at the Bernabéu, contributing to three Champions League titles and three La Liga championships during his time at the club. Asensio's flexibility to play across multiple attacking positions — as a winger, second striker, or attacking midfielder — made him a valuable squad player even as Real Madrid's attacking talent pool grew increasingly competitive during his tenure. He moved to Paris Saint-Germain in 2023, before a loan spell in England with Aston Villa and a subsequent move to Turkish club Fenerbahçe in 2025. Asensio has represented Spain at multiple major tournaments since his senior debut in 2016, including the delayed Tokyo Olympics in 2021, where Spain won a silver medal, and has earned dozens of caps for the national team across World Cups and European Championships throughout his career.
