Laura Malcolm

English midcourter who captained Manchester Thunder and represented England at World Cup and Commonwealth level.

Laura Malcolm was born on 20 May 1991 in England, and developed into one of the country's most respected midcourters and eventual co-captain of the England national team, spending the majority of her club career with Manchester Thunder across two separate spells either side of a stint with Severn Stars. Malcolm helped Manchester Thunder win the 2019 Netball Superleague title, and was named to the 2021 Netball Superleague Team of the Year in recognition of her consistent performances, before signing a new two-year contract extension with the club later that year. Malcolm represented England from 2012 to 2023, becoming one of the most experienced and respected leaders in the national team's midcourt over more than a decade of international service. In June 2022, Malcolm left Manchester Thunder to sign with New Zealand's Mainland Tactix ahead of the 2023 ANZ Premiership season, gaining valuable experience in the Trans-Tasman league before announcing her retirement from netball in June 2024, closing out a distinguished career built on consistency and leadership in the English game.
