Kevon Grant Looney was born on 6 February 1996 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, to Doug and Victoria Looney, and attended Alexander Hamilton High School, where he was named Wisconsin's Mr. Basketball and a McDonald's All-American before playing one season at UCLA. The Golden State Warriors selected Looney 30th overall in the 2015 NBA Draft, and despite injury setbacks early in his career, he developed into one of the league's most reliable and unheralded rebounders and interior defenders, becoming a key rotation piece for one of the most successful eras in franchise history.
