Julius Levi Randle was born in Dallas, Texas, and starred at Prestonwood Christian Academy before playing one season at the University of Kentucky, helping the Wildcats reach the 2014 national championship game as part of a talented freshman class. The Los Angeles Lakers selected Randle seventh overall in the 2014 NBA Draft, though a broken leg suffered in his debut game cost him almost his entire rookie season. He developed into a productive scoring forward across four seasons in Los Angeles before signing with the New Orleans Pelicans in 2018.
