Juan Carlos Navarro, nicknamed 'La Bomba', is a Spanish former basketball player and 2009 EuroLeague MVP who is the EuroLeague's all-time leader in three-pointers made.
Juan Carlos Navarro holds the EuroLeague's all-time record for three-pointers made with 623, won five All-EuroLeague First Team selections, and spent all but one season of a 20-year professional career at FC Barcelona — a combination of statistical dominance and institutional loyalty that made him the most decorated Spanish club player in basketball history.. Known for his trademark long-range shot nicknamed 'la bomba,' he broke into the senior team as a teenager and helped Spain win the 1999 FIBA Under-19 World Cup alongside Pau Gasol. Navarro led Barcelona to their first-ever EuroLeague title in 2003, before spending the 2007-08 season with the Memphis Grizzlies in the NBA. He returned to Barcelona in 2008 and entered the finest stretch of his career, winning the EuroLeague MVP award in 2009 and a second EuroLeague title in 2010 as Final Four MVP. He was selected to the All-EuroLeague First Team five times and remains the competition's all-time leader in three-pointers made, with 623. Internationally, Navarro was a cornerstone of Spain's golden generation, helping the national team win the 2006 FIBA World Championship, three Olympic medals (silver at Beijing 2008 and London 2012, bronze at Rio 2016), and multiple EuroBasket medals including three golds, being named EuroBasket MVP in 2011. He retired in 2018 after a 20-year career almost entirely spent at Barcelona, with his No. 11 jersey retired by the club the following year. He was named a EuroLeague Legend in 2014 and selected to the EuroLeague's 25th Anniversary Team in 2025, and now serves as general manager of FC Barcelona Bàsquet.
