Joe Joyce was born in London, England, and developed into one of the most accomplished amateur heavyweight boxers Britain has produced, representing Great Britain at the 2016 Rio Olympics, where he won a silver medal in the super heavyweight division, narrowly losing a controversial final to France's Tony Yoka.
