Ja Morant was the best young point guard in the NBA — Rookie of the Year in 2020, Most Improved Player in 2022, driving force behind the second-seeded Memphis Grizzlies — before two separate suspensions in 2023 for social media incidents involving firearms introduced a persistent question about whether his extraordinary gifts would translate into sustained greatness..
