The ultimate poacher — a predatory striker who lived on the shoulder of the last defender and became AC Milan's Champions League talisman.
Filippo Inzaghi was born in Piacenza, Italy on 9 August 1973. After spells at lower division clubs and a productive stint at Juventus, he joined AC Milan in 2001 for €30 million. Despite limited all-round ability, his instinctive goalscoring, movement and positioning made him deadly in the penalty area. He scored twice in the 2007 Champions League final against Liverpool. He was the Champions League's all-time top scorer for a period with 70 goals. He won two Champions Leagues (2003, 2007), three Serie A titles and the Club World Cup. He made 300 appearances for Milan, scoring 126 goals. He earned 57 caps for Italy and won the 2006 World Cup.
Champions League 2x
He was once declared offside so many times that opposing fans made a song about it, yet he remains one of the greatest goalscorers the Champions League has ever seen.
