Edwin Moses went nine years and nine months without losing a 400m hurdles race — 122 consecutive finals between August 1977 and June 1987 — a winning streak that is one of the most statistically improbable sustained achievements in the history of individual sport.. boycott but defended his title at the 1984 Los Angeles Games, becoming only the second man to win two Olympic golds in the event. He earned an MBA from Pepperdine University, became an influential advocate against steroid use in athletics, and later competed at a world-class level in bobsledding, remaining one of the most intellectually distinguished and dominant athletes his sport has produced.
