American basketball shooting guard known for his scoring ability and three-point shooting, NBA All-Star and former Most Improved Player winner.
Christian James McCollum was born in Canton, Ohio, and starred at Glenwood High School before playing four seasons at Lehigh University, where he became one of the most prolific scorers in program history and helped the Mountain Hawks upset Duke in the 2012 NCAA Tournament. The Portland Trail Blazers selected McCollum tenth overall in the 2013 NBA Draft, and he developed into one of the league's most gifted scoring guards, winning the NBA Most Improved Player award in 2016 while forming one of the most prolific backcourt scoring duos in the league alongside Damian Lillard. McCollum was traded to the New Orleans Pelicans in 2022, continuing to be one of the league's most reliable perimeter scorers, renowned for his footwork and shot-making off the dribble. McCollum has become an increasingly prominent voice off the court as well, serving as president of the National Basketball Players Association and building a respected career as a media personality and podcast host, continuing to represent the Pelicans as a veteran leader and scoring threat.
