The defining player of the modern WNBA era — two-time WNBA champion, two-time Finals MVP, Olympic gold medallist and the most versatile and complete forward the women's game has produced.
Breanna Stewart was born in Chicora, Pennsylvania in 1994. Seattle Storm selected her first overall in the 2016 WNBA Draft from UConn, where she won four NCAA championships and four Final Four Most Outstanding Player awards — the latter a unique achievement in the history of college basketball. She won two WNBA championships (2018, 2020), two WNBA MVP awards (2018, 2023) and two Olympic gold medals (2016, 2020). She suffered a ruptured Achilles tendon in April 2019 and returned to win the championship and Finals MVP the following season. She moved to the New York Liberty in 2023 and won the WNBA championship with them in 2024. She co-founded the Unrivaled 3-on-3 basketball league in 2025. She is the most decorated individual player in UConn and WNBA history by combined college and professional honours.
