Bailey Mes

New Zealand shooter who won the 2019 Netball World Cup with the Silver Ferns and has played across several ANZ Premiership teams.

Versatile enough to play goal shoot, goal attack, and wing attack at international level, Bailey Mes represented the Silver Ferns for over a decade and became one of the Northern Mystics' longest-serving players before announcing her retirement from the sport in May 2023. Mes developed into one of New Zealand's most versatile attacking players, capable of playing goal shoot, goal attack, and wing attack, and was selected into New Zealand's senior international setup in 2012, going on to represent the Silver Ferns for over a decade. Mes endured a difficult period after being dropped from the Silver Ferns squad following heavy defeats at the 2018 Commonwealth Games, an experience she has said temporarily took the joy out of playing, though she continued competing for the Mystics in the ANZ Premiership rather than leave the club without cover. Mes announced her retirement from both international and domestic netball on 18 May 2023, following the conclusion of that year's ANZ Premiership finals, citing ongoing injuries as the primary reason. She had moved to the Waikato Bay of Plenty Magic for her final playing seasons, and has since built a career at Sky TV in New Zealand alongside her post-playing life.
