Pacy and powerful Nigerian winger who won the AFCON and represented the Super Eagles with distinction across a long career spanning multiple leagues.
Ahmed Musa was born in Jos, Plateau State, Nigeria on 14 October 1992. A lightning-quick, direct winger known for his pace, pressing and goalscoring ability, Musa came through the CSKA Moscow academy system and became a key player there, winning the Russian Premier League multiple times. He joined Leicester City for £16.6m in 2016 but found first-team opportunities limited at the Premier League champions. He returned to Russia with CSKA before a move to Saudi Arabia with Al Nassr and Al Fateh. He also had a stint at Kano Pillars. For Nigeria he earned over 100 caps and scored over 14 goals, appearing at the 2014 and 2018 World Cups, where he scored twice in each tournament, and winning the AFCON in 2013. He is one of the most-capped Nigerian players in history.
AFCON 2013
He scored twice in each of the 2014 and 2018 World Cup tournaments — making him a rare player to score multiple goals at two separate World Cups.
