Semi Radradra Turagasoli-Waqavatu was born on 13 June 1992 in Suva, Fiji, and began his professional sporting career in rugby league, representing Fiji at the 2011 IRB Junior World Championship in union before switching codes to join the Parramatta Eels in Australia's National Rugby League. He went on to play for the Wests Tigers and represented both Fiji and Australia at international rugby league level, becoming the first Fijian player to win the Dally M Winger of the Year award twice in a row. Nicknamed "Semi Trailer" for his powerful, imposing running style, Radradra switched permanently to rugby union in 2017, signing with French club Toulon before moving to Bordeaux Bègles in 2018, where his combination of size, footwork, and offloading ability made him one of the most feared attacking backs in the Top 14. Radradra made his rugby union debut for Fiji in 2018 and played at the 2019 World Cup, continuing to represent his country across multiple international tournaments while building a reputation as one of the finest dual-code players of his generation. He was named to the European Player of the Year shortlist on multiple occasions during his time in French rugby. Radradra later moved to Japan's League One to play for Shizuoka Blue Revs, continuing a career that has spanned rugby league and union across Australia, France, and Japan, while remaining one of Fiji's most celebrated modern rugby exports.
