Nate McMillan

American basketball player and coach known for his defensive prowess with Seattle SuperSonics and successful coaching career with multiple NBA teams.

Nathaniel McMillan was born in Raleigh, North Carolina, and starred at North Carolina State University before the Seattle SuperSonics selected him in the second round of the 1986 NBA Draft, launching a 12-year playing career spent entirely with the franchise. McMillan, nicknamed "Mr. Sonic" for his loyalty to the Seattle franchise, developed into one of the league's most respected defensive point guards and team leaders, earning NBA All-Defensive Second Team honours and later having his No. 10 jersey retired by the SuperSonics.
