Max Holloway

A volume-striking phenom who set UFC career-strike records and became the first-ever 'BMF' titleholder.

Jerome Max Keliʻi Holloway was born on 4 December 1991 in Honolulu, Hawaii, and grew up in Waiʻanae, turning professional in mixed martial arts at just 18 years old in 2010, training under Brazilian jiu-jitsu black belt Pedro Sauer. Holloway, nicknamed "Blessed," developed into one of the most durable and volume-heavy strikers in UFC history, winning the UFC Featherweight Championship in 2017 with a decisive victory over José Aldo, and defending the title multiple times across one of the most successful title reigns in the division's history. Holloway holds numerous UFC records, including most significant strikes landed in the promotion's history, and delivered one of the most celebrated performances in UFC history at UFC 300 in 2024, knocking out Justin Gaethje in the final seconds of a "BMF" title bout that had gone the distance without a discernible winner on the cards. Holloway has continued competing at an elite level across both featherweight and lightweight, renowned as one of the sport's most beloved and technically gifted strikers, and remains one of the most popular Hawaiian athletes in any sport.
