Lucia Rijker

Lucia Rijker is a Dutch boxer who retired with a perfect 17-0 professional record and was among the first women inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame.

Lucia Rijker was born in Amsterdam in 1967 and became the most feared female boxer of her era — a kickboxing world champion who transitioned to boxing with a professional record of 17 wins (14 by knockout — 82% KO rate) and 0 losses across a career from 1996 to 2004. She was undefeated in 17 professional boxing bouts and never went beyond 6 rounds. She won the WBC lightweight title in 1996 and the WBC super lightweight title in 1999. She was Ring Magazine Female Fighter of the Decade for the 1990s. Her combination of elite kickboxing footwork, punching power and relentless pressure made her virtually unbeatable at the weights she competed at. Her scheduled fight with Christy Martin — which would have been the most high-profile women's boxing bout of its era — fell through due to Martin suffering a shoulder injury. She later became a boxing trainer and actress, appearing in Million Dollar Baby as the fictional villain Billie the Blue Bear. She holds world titles in multiple kickboxing disciplines alongside her boxing achievements.
