She won Olympic gold medals at Atlanta 1996, Sydney 2000 and Athens 2004 as a pitcher and third baseman — one of only three players to appear on all three gold medal-winning USA teams. She posted a career batting average above .300 and a pitching record of near-perfect efficiency, combining power hitting with elite pitching across a 20-year career. She won the ASA Player of the Year award three times and was a three-time All-American at UCLA. She pitched a perfect game in the 2003 World Softball Championship against Australia.
