American professional basketball player who won three NBA championships and was known as a tenacious defender and reliable point guard throughout his career

Lindsey Kevin Hunter was born and developed into a standout defensive guard at Jackson State University before the Detroit Pistons selected him in the first round of the 1993 NBA Draft, launching a 17-year professional career built primarily on perimeter defence and reliability off the bench. Hunter played the majority of his career with the Detroit Pistons across two separate stints, becoming a key defensive contributor to the franchise's 2004 NBA championship team, renowned for his ability to guard multiple perimeter positions and disrupt opposing ball-handlers. Hunter also played for the Milwaukee Bucks, Toronto Raptors, Los Angeles Lakers, and Chicago Bulls, winning a second NBA championship with the Lakers in 2002, before retiring in 2010 as one of the most well-travelled and respected defensive specialists of his era. Hunter transitioned into coaching after retiring, serving as an assistant with several NBA teams and briefly as head coach of the Phoenix Suns, continuing his involvement in the league that had defined his 17-year playing career.
