Rock-solid right-back who was a vital member of Arsenal's legendary back four for over a decade.
Lee Michael Dixon was born in Manchester on 17 March 1964. After spells at Burnley, Chester City, Bury and Stoke City, he joined Arsenal in 1988 and became an integral part of one of the greatest defensive units in English football history. Alongside Adams, Bould and Winterburn, he formed the famous back four that was the foundation of Arsenal's success. He made 619 appearances for the club, winning four league titles (1989, 1991, 1998, 2002), three FA Cups, the League Cup and the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1994. Consistent, intelligent and with a surprisingly good right foot, Dixon was a model of professionalism. He earned 22 England caps. After retiring in 2002, he became a respected TV pundit.
