Jennifer Anne Borlase, née Kennett, was born around 1968 in South Australia, and began her netball career with the Eyre Academy and Cummins Kapinnie Cougars before progressing to Garville, representing the club in both the South Australia state league and the national Mobil Superleague. Borlase, also known as Jenny Kennett during part of her career, represented Australia from 1989 to 1999, making 70 senior appearances and helping the national team win gold medals at the 1991, 1995, and 1999 World Netball Championships, the 1993 World Games, and the 1998 Commonwealth Games — one of the most decorated periods in Australian netball history. Borlase also played for the Adelaide Ravens and Melbourne Kestrels in the Commonwealth Bank Trophy league, and represented South Australia at state level throughout her domestic career, before being awarded the Medal of the Order of Australia in recognition of her contribution to the sport. Borlase moved into coaching after retiring, joining the South Australian Sports Institute in 2017 and Seymour College in 2019, continuing to develop the next generation of South Australian netball talent nearly two decades after her own playing career concluded.
