Jan Błachowicz won the UFC Light Heavyweight Championship in September 2020 to become the first male Polish fighter ever to claim a UFC title, capping a decade-long journey from Poland's KSW promotion to the world's most competitive 205-pound division that had included multiple setbacks before his breakthrough at the top. Błachowicz developed into one of the most well-rounded light heavyweights in UFC history, training at Warsaw's Berkut WCA Fight Team and combining reliable boxing with a black belt-level ground game to compete at the top of the division for well over a decade.
