Honus Wagner was born in Chartiers, Pennsylvania in 1874. He played for the Pittsburgh Pirates from 1897 to 1917, hitting .328 for his career across 2,795 games. He won eight batting titles and led the NL in RBIs five times, in runs scored twice and in stolen bases five times. He was named to the inaugural Baseball Hall of Fame class in 1936 alongside Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, Walter Johnson and Christy Mathewson. His T206 baseball card — one of the rarest in existence — sold for $7.25 million in 2021, the highest price ever paid for a baseball card.
