Gary Alexander Neville was born on 18 February 1975 in Bury, Greater Manchester, England, the first child of Neville Neville, a former league cricketer, and his wife Jill, who played netball, rounders, and hockey at local level — a sporting household that also produced his brother Phil, a fellow Manchester United and England footballer, and his sister Tracey, a professional netball player and coach.
