NFL's all-time leading rusher — three Super Bowl championships with the Dallas Cowboys.
Emmitt James Smith III was born in Pensacola, Florida in 1969. Dallas Cowboys selected him 17th overall in 1990. His 15-season career produced 18,355 rushing yards — the NFL all-time record — and 164 rushing touchdowns. He won three Super Bowls with Dallas (1993, 1994, 1996) and was named Super Bowl MVP in Super Bowl XXVIII. He led the NFL in rushing four consecutive seasons (1991–94) and won the NFL MVP in 1993. In 2002 at Arizona Cardinals he broke Walter Payton's all-time rushing record. He was selected to eight Pro Bowls. His patient, instinctive running style — finding gaps behind any offensive line — defined his consistency. He was inducted into the Pro Football Hall of Fame in 2010, his first year of eligibility, and named to the NFL 100 All-Time Team.
