Dominik Paris is an Italian alpine ski racer and Italy's most successful downhill skier in World Cup history, a World Champion known for his dominance on the Bormio and Kitzbühel courses.
In December 2012, Dominik Paris and Aksel Lund Svindal crossed the finish line at Bormio in identical times — a dead-heat World Cup win that had never happened before. Three weeks later Paris won on the Kitzbühel Streif for the first time, and a career-long affinity with the sport’s most storied speed courses had begun. He rose through the Europa Cup before making his World Cup debut in December 2008, specialising in the speed disciplines of downhill and Super-G. Paris achieved his first World Cup victory in December 2012 in a dramatic dead-heat finish at Bormio, and weeks later delivered a surprise win on the notorious 'Streif' course at Kitzbühel, one of the sport's most feared and prestigious downhills. He added a silver medal at the 2013 World Championships in Schladming, and went on to become Italy's dominant force on the Bormio course, winning six downhill races there, while claiming three victories on the Kitzbühel Streif over his career. Paris reached the pinnacle of his career at the 2019 World Championships in Åre, Sweden, winning gold in the Super-G, and topped the World Cup Super-G discipline standings that same season. Despite a serious ACL injury in early 2020, he continued competing at the top level for years afterward, and at the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympics — his fifth Games — he won a downhill bronze medal, his first Olympic medal. By that point he had accumulated 26 World Cup victories, the most by any Italian downhill specialist in history, and 54 career podiums.
